How to Soundproof a Pipe
Pipe Blokker is acoustical Pipe/Duct Lagging, used for soundproofing pipes, which combines a loaded vinyl with a reinforced aluminum foil facing on one side and a layer of 3 pcf fiberglass on the other side. The vinyl property provides mass and flexibility while the aluminum adds increased strength, weatherability, improved fire retardancy and a more attractive appearance.
When installing Pipe Blokker, be sure to seal seams between pieces using Seam Seal tape or any other acrylic-based adhesive tape. The fiberglass layer should be touching the pipe, and the mass loaded vinyl layer should be facing outward.
