Wall Blokker Lite is a 0.6 lb/sf EVA-based Mass Loaded Vinyl designed to improve metal-stud wall assembly performance by 6-11 STC points. At just 1/16″ thick, Wall Blokker Lite is a cost-effective alternative to multiple layers of drywall.

Tested on Metal Studs (20-Gauge & 25-Gauge), our thinner Mass Loaded Barrier is easily hung on metal studs using 1/2″ staples or pan-head screws. Cut around any penetrations using a razor blade or a utility knife.

Description

Wall Blokker Lite is a highly engineered sound barrier for sound reduction. Wall Blokker Lite is a 0.6 lb/sf mass loaded barrier, which is flexible and designed for commercial, industrial and residential applications. It is used primarily behind a finished wall to block and reduce noise transfer across a wide array of frequencies and can be placed between an existing wall and a second layer of drywall. Wall Blokker Lite is the most cost-effective mass loaded barrier for soundproofing metal stud walls.

As a limp mass barrier, it adds significant weight to the wall, which is critical to low-frequency attenuation. However, the flexibility greatly improves the dampening characteristics of the wall, providing decoupling between adjacent rigid elements.

Wall Blokker is our premier MLV, and is the most cost-effective Mass Loaded Vinyl barrier on the market.

    Mass Loaded Vinyl, or MLV, is a Vinyl-based sound membrane designed to add maximum soundproofing and dampening to your wall assembly. With STC 26, our 1 lb/sf MLV can improve wall soundproofing performances by 40% or more. Much more efficient than simply stacking layers of drywall, Mass Loaded Vinyl can be used to provide broad-frequency sound attenuation performance. Installing a single layer on to wood- or metal-frame assemblies increase their STC by 10+ points, effectively doubling their soundproofing performance.

    The Drop Ceiling Noise Blokker is designed to allow optimal ceiling soundproofing above existing ACT tile grids. Placed directly on top of the existing tile, and designed with a woven 1 lb/sf Mass Loaded Vinyl core with STC 26, you can greatly reduce airborne noise passing through your ceiling grid.

    This issue is most common in office spaces where a wall between offices ends at the ceiling grid, and does not go all the way to the deck. This allows sound to “flank” up and over the wall through the open space in the ceiling, and travel to the adjacent office – another term we use for this is “cross-talk”.
